This is test fixture that needs to be as light as possible. The thicknesses range from 5/8″ to 1″ thick. All butt welds had a generous bevel. Start to finish was some 18 to 20 hours of welding, and 2 lbs of very expensive magnesium filler.

Very nice material to weld, all things considered.
